Band | Chorus | Drama | Mock Trial
Band
Membership in the Union County High School Band is open to any students enrolled in grades 9-12. Band students are given the opportunity to perform in a variety of settings, including concert band, jazz ensemble, small ensembles, and solos. All band students are expected to perform with the UCHS Marching Panthers during football season, barring extenuating circumstances.
Union County High School band students are active in district and state band activities, including district honor band, all-state band, and solo-ensemble festival. The UCHS Band annually attends district concert festival, and participates in at least one marching festival during football season. Several UCHS band students have performed recently with the GMEA and Georgia Lions' All-State Bands.
The UCHS Band takes a major spring trip every other year. The band performed at Disney's Magic Kingdom in 1999, and on the cruise ship Ocean Breeze in 2001. Plans are being made for a trip to New York City in 2003, with a performance at the Statue of Liberty.

Chorus
UCHS Chorus is open to any student in grades 9-12. The chorus performs a fall, winter, and spring concert each year plus attends the 9th district choral festival in the spring. Students have various opportunities to attend choral clinics throughout the year, including 9th district honor chorus and All-State Chorus.
In addition to the chorus class, ladies and guys are given the opportunity to be a part of and Advanced Women’s Chorus and Guy’s Ensemble. These ensembles meet once a week after school. Performances for these groups include spotlights in the chorus concerts as well as public performances at local community group meetings.
The UCHS Chorus takes a spring trip every other year. This year, plans are being made for a trip to Pigeon Forge, TN to perform at a choral festival in conjunction with Dollywood.

Drama Club

Mock Trial
Mock Trial is designed to give students an inside perspective of the legal system, providing them with an understanding of the mechanism through which society chooses to resolve many disputes. The UCHS Mock Trial Competition Team competes against other schools in our region to litigate a criminal or civil case.
