KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
The Union County Primary School holds a Kindergarten pre-registration screening week every spring for each upcoming school year. All children who turn five years of age on or before September 1st of the current year are eligible to attend public Kindergarten and MUST be pre-registered. A parent or legal guardian must contact the school office at 706-745-5450 to schedule an appointment for his or her eligible child to have a screening and register for placement in the upcoming Kindergarten class. THIS ALSO INCLUDES ALL KINDERGARTEN AGE CHILDREN WHO ATTENDED PRE-K, CEC OR ANY OTHER DAYCARE DURING THIS PAST YEAR. These screenings are by appointment only, with times available between the hours of 9:00 am to 11:40 am and 12:40 pm to 2:00 pm. This information is also annually posted in the North Georgia newspaper for one month prior to the screening week. Parents or guardians should call the primary school as soon as the dates are set for the best selection in appointment times.
In addition to bringing the child to the screening, the following items MUST also be brought to the school at the time of registration:
• proof of Union County residency,
• a copy of the child’s birth certificate,
• an up-to-date immunization certificate on a Georgia form,
• a copy of the child's social security card.
Note: For more details on registration requirements, please refer to the new enrollment section on the primary school home page.
