Union County High School Graduation Inclement Weather Plan
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IN ITS ENTIRETY:
The Union County High School Graduation Ceremony is currently scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM on Friday, May 22nd, 2026, at Mike Colwell Memorial Stadium.
Because of the possibility of inclement weather, Union County Schools will make a weather decision on Friday afternoon.
At that time, one of the following decisions will be announced:
Graduation will be held as scheduled on Friday night at Mike Colwell Memorial Stadium.
If weather conditions are expected to prevent an outdoor ceremony on both Friday and Saturday, graduation will remain on Friday night and be moved indoors to the Union County Fine Arts Center.
If the weather looks totally clear on Saturday, graduation will be postponed to Saturday evening, May 23rd, at Mike Colwell Memorial Stadium.
If graduation is moved indoors, with 227 graduates, indoor seating will be limited to 4 tickets per graduate. ONLY ticketed guests will be able to attend inside the Fine Arts Center. If you do not have a ticket, please do not come to the Fine Arts Center including non-participating staff.
All non-ticketed attendees may watch the ceremony via a live video feed in the UCHS gymnasium or from home through the YouTube live feed (available on the UCHS Facebook page and the UCS website).
If graduation is moved indoors, families are encouraged to carpool if possible due to limited parking and traffic flow around campus. Shuttles will be available at either location beginning at 6:00 PM.
The Fine Arts Center and Mike Colwell Memorial Stadium will not open until 6:00 PM for entry.
Any updates or changes will be communicated through the school website, social media, text, email, and phone call.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to provide the best possible experience for our graduates, families, and community.
